Born in El Paso, grew up in Atlanta, and raised in Phoenix. Started playing guitar at age 11. Studied with guitarist Jeff Libman and saxophonist Eric Rasmussen. Moved to Greeley, Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in the Spring of 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance (Jazz Emphasis). Studied with Steve Kovalcheck, Jim White, Erik Applegate, and Kerry Marsh. Relocated to Denver, CO in 2015.
In 2014 I created the blog, Our Man On The Ground, to give myself a place to share music transcriptions and interviews with local musicians. Later, I produced and released a solo guitar album, The Living Room EP, in April 2017. Somewhere in-between I began freelancing in Denver with various singer-songwriters, churches, corporate, and wedding groups. I’ve performed at venues such as Syntax Physic Opera, the Hi-Dive, 3 Kings Tavern, The Larimer Lounge, Underground Music Showcase, Bohemian Nights, Journey Church, The Aspen St. Regis, and The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch. I joined the alternative hip-hop group, Flobots, in November of 2017 for an international tour in support of their album, No Enemies. During the tour I was fortunate to play venues such as The Roxy (LA), El Corazon (Seattle), Rough Trade (Brooklyn), and The Horseshoe Tavern (Toronto).
As an educator I maintain an active private studio of students, both in-person and online. I’ve taught and led classes with organizations such as My Music Skool, School of Rock Denver, The City of Aurora, Jeffco Public Schools, Swallow Hill Music, and The Parlando School of Music.
Currently playing, teaching, recording, and writing in Denver. Having the time of my life.
